The Shades Repertory Theater Company was started in 1994 by Samuel Harps to provide a vehicle for the production of his plays. Over the years they have been staged from Long Island to Rockland County. Today the company has a new home, the Central Presbyterian Church in Haverstraw where Samuel combines the work of professional actors with a local youth theater group. The use of this space allows the Company to rehearse and stage productions prior to moving them to other performance spaces for a wider audience.

Additionally this year, there will now be a theatrical festival of One-Act plays by local playwrights. The Festival will be held in Haverstraw at the Central Presbyterian Church in early May, click here for more information or here for an image of the festival Postcard.
